Paul Iuzzolino 09/30/13 The City of Gotham is finally making its way to the TV screen. Deadline recently announced that Fox has established a series commitment to Gotham.1 This new show will feature live action, and viewers will be able to follow a young Detective James Gordon on his many adventures. The series is being created by Bruno Heller, who made The Mentalist. Commissioner James Gordon first surfaced in Detective Comics #27.2 This 1939 comic also marked the debut of Batman. The character of James Gordon was originally created by Bill Finger and Bob Kane. Commissioner James Gordon also made an appearance on the 1960's Batman television show created by Neil Hamilton. In the most recent Batman films by Christopher Nolan, Gary Oldman played the role of Commissioner James Gordon. Even though a majority of Gordon's adventures involve Batman's enemies, Batman himself is not scheduled to be included in the series. |
