As most of the world knows by now, the director of the first two Star Trek films, J.J. Abrams, is headed to direct Star Wars Episode 7. With Abrams doing Star Wars, Star Trek is left without a director, for now. Latino-Review claims Paramount has Chu "on top of the list" of candidates, which rumor has it has also included Justin Lin (Fast & Furious 6), Brad Bird (Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol), and Joe Cornish (Attack the Block). Chu is also attached to Masters of the Universe and stated to direct G.i. Joe 3. Sound this rumor be true however, directing the new Star Trek will affect his directing of G.I. Joe 3 which are both slated to come out in 2016. Along with the news, the site also states that Abrams is set to produce Star Trek 3 as well as direct Star Wars. Star Wars is set to release in 2015. Star Trek 3 and G.i. Joe 3 is set to release in 2016. |
