By Jonathan Arias 09/15/13 The big screen will be receiving some well known magic in the near future. J.K. Rowling, most famous for her "Harry Potter" books, is casting a spell to begin writing her first movie series. The series will be based on the Hogwarts text book "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them." Before anybody starts drawing scars on their forehead, J.K. Rowling has already announced that this will be "neither a prequel nor a sequel to the "Harry Potter" series, but an extension of the wizarding world." Instead of focusing on the boy wizard we have all come to know and love, the story will center in on the textbook's author Newt Scamander. The new entry into J.K. Rowling's magic world will take place in New York, seventy years before Harry Potter even begins. That eliminates Harry from even being in the film, but Warner Bros. studio has confirmed that some of the film's characters may be familiar to devoted Harry Potter fans. There is no word on how many entries the series will contain or even a release date on the first movie. We can all smile at the fact that Warner Bros. has confirmed a video game to go along with the movie. "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them was released in book form in 2001.All we can do now is bide our time brushing up on our "Harry Potter" knowledge, dust off our wands, and wait. Remember kids, it's leviOsa not leviosA. |
