In Payday 2, you assume the roles of the original Payday crew Dallas, Hoxton, Wolf and Chains as you commit an epic crime spree through the streets of Washington D.C. This game can be played in four player coop mode and single player mode. Most of your missions in the game will involve doing heists and robbing some cash. There are two ways to perform the heists; you can use the crime.net service from inside to game to host a four player coop heist. If you want to go solo on the heist, you can go into the crime.net offline mode and do the heist. The crime.net service does a good job of organizing all the heists available in all levels of difficulty by making pop ups of contracts come up on an overhead map of the city. If you are playing on the PC, you would use the mouse to scroll over to a contract and see the details. At first only a few heists will be available, and you will have to gain a better level to do the better heists. If one of your friends has the level you need for the heist, they can invite you into a heist, but you can't host the heist yourself. The first few heists in the game are a good way for you to get used to playing the game and gain experience points. For other heists, it's better to either have AI backup or play in crime.net mode to complete the heist. If you want to do the heist in solo mode, it can be quite difficult. This game has a nice flow to it; after you choose your heist, you are taken to an Intel screen, where you can see pictures of the place you are robbing, as well as information about the place. Once you are satisfied with the Intel screen, the heist will commence. The heists start off in casing mode, and the depiction is done really well. You enter the location as if you were a civilian, and basically scope out the place and see what's its all about. Don't get to close to the cops or the cameras, or else the cops will be on your really quick. If you are on a PC, press the G key to put on your mask and start the heist. Alternately, if you make the cops and staff too nervous or suspicious one of the staff members may trip an alarm; your mask will come on automatically, and the heist will start. The equipment can also play a huge role in the heists; the ECM jammer can shut down electronic devices, which can help you in the Jewelry store heist mission. The VLAD Nightclub mission is really exciting to play. You have to go into the nightclub and empty out the manager's safe and get out fast. You first start off in the street and you have to walk over into the nightclub; the movement is really fluid, and there is a marker on the screen that indicates where the manager's office is. At first, it may seem difficult to get to the office, so you really have to look around to find the best route without arousing suspicion. Once you put the mask on, orange indicators come onto the screen, indicating where all the guards are. The movement changes once the heist starts; your character does move slower, but there is still a fast pace to it. The background music is really nice, and makes the heist more intense. While you are playing other missions, you can make a gesture with your gun to make the guard lie on the ground, and then you can handcuff him. Overall, this game is very fun to play, and every heist is different, and offers a different variety of gameplay depending on the heist. If you are a fan of the original PayDay, you have to go out and play PayDay 2. |
