Just when you thought the PS4's remote function wasn't already awesome enough, a new report shows that smart phones will be able to interact with the system. Playstation executive Shuhei Yoshida says that the feature would go beyond what was originally announced. Remote play on the PS4 will be much more than merely using the PS Vita to play games from your PS4 on the go. According to Yoshida, "When you buy a PS4 game on a smart phone, it will wake your PS4 up to start downloading the game. PS4 goes back to sleep after that." This feature is amazing for the PS4 users who are always away from the house, or cannot access their system when they want. This also opens up possibilities of time based discounts on items on the PSN. Imagine downloading a game from work only to come home to it ready and waiting to be played. While this seems like a positive step forward, reality has to rear its ugly head. With the PS4 becoming more advanced and the people using it for more than gaming, what's not to say this remote system could be used by the wrong people to gain access to purchases you have made? I am sure Sony has come up with a backup plan for this but it is just food for thought. The PS4 is on its way to top its predecessor with all these advances and functions associated with the system. |
