By Paul Iuzzolino 8/19/13 It looks like Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (TMNT) fans will have to wait longer then expected to the see the Michael Bay-directed reboot. According to Paramount Pictures, the TMNT reboot was supposed to be released around Christmas 2013, but because of scripting issues, it was pushed back to May 2014, and then pushed back again to June 6th, 2014. Paramount Pictures now stated that the movie would release on August 8th 2014. Paramount further said that they didn't want TMNT to be released so close to Transformers 4, which is going into theaters on June 27th. If TMNT were to be released on May 16, 2014, it would be competing with Godzilla. A June 6th, 2014 release meant that it would have gone against Tom Cruise's Edge of Tomorrow. So now with the new date of August 8th 2014, this movie will be released a week after Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy. This new remake stars a great cast of movie stars, including Megan Fox, Alan Ritchson, Pete Ploszek, Noel Fisher, Jeremy Howard, Danny Woodburn, Will Arnett, William Fichtner, and Whoopi Goldberg. Hopefully this long wait will be worthwhile. |
