By Paul Iuzzolino 09/10/13 Twitch and Intel have now found a faster way to stream your PC games with Quick Sync. Twitch announced that by incorporating Intel's Quick Sync Technology into its development kit, the CPU load and stream quality will be much faster than before. A built-in hardware encoder used by Quick Sync can post up to 60 percent lower CPU utilization when compared with software solutions.1 Twitch also claims that by using Quick Sync, HD streaming will work much better. PC gamers will be happy to know that this incorporation into Twitch's SDK is backwards compatible, so PC gamers that use this service will benefit. This week Intel will be showcasing Quick Sync on its Developer Forum. According to author Mike Futter, video and streaming have grown significantly in the past five years, and this new step forward continues to make video and streaming easier. It also opens the door to more content and voices. Mike Futter and the rest of the PC gamers are very eager to see Quick Sync in action and understand the impact it will have on the Twitch community. |
