By Jonathan Arias 8/27/13 If you thought your brand new Xbox One only came in one flavor, then guess again. A picture of a white Xbox One dev kit began floating around on the popular site Reddit in July. Since then, people have clamored to see if these liquid white consoles would be coming to stores any time soon, or if this was a future release for the company. Unfortunately this Xbox One is just for employees who worked on Xbox One's development. According to the Reddit image, the members of Microsoft's Interactive Entertainment Business team will be receiving this special edition white/silver Xbox One. Inscribed on this Xbox One are the words "I made this" and what appears to be "Launch Team" also etched on the front of the system. The white Xbox One also comes with a free year of Xbox Live, a matching controller, a special achievement to commemorate the event, the Kinect accessory (still in black), and all first-party launch games. If this doesn't get millions of job applications sent to Microsoft, then I don't know what will. I personally believe that the white Xbox One looks better than the liquid black version being sold to the public. The white makes the system stand out and stand apart from the PS4. It really gives you a sense of Microsoft vs Sony if you were to look at them side by side. Hopefully Microsoft will see how much of a ruckus this leaked image has caused and release this and other colors later down the line. |
