Dead Fantasy

A friend of mine came over last night and as always, she and I got into a conversation about the latest games; what she is currently playing, etc. She is a Final Fantasy fan like myself so I showed her an article I wrote not too long ago about the latest news on the fan-made Final Fantasy webseries on Youtube based on one of the most popular chapters of the endless game, Final Fantasy VII. We watched the trailer for this webseries in the article which is friggin' awesome by the way, but after that she decided to show me this crazy series also on YouTube called "Dead Fantasy".

Dead Fantasy, she told me, was created long ago, however new installations are expected sometime in the future. What it is, is a fan-made, all-out battle between the ladies of Dead or Alive and several other female characters from Final Fantasy VII, VIII, and even Kingdom Hearts. As a woman, I LOVE when I get to see female characters take the lead in games and this crazy creation was a dream come true! It is so awesome, in my opinion, that whoever developed this series should really consider developing it as a real game. Imagine being Tifa and kicking ass alongside Rikku, Yuna, and more classic FF characters? If you prefer Dead or Alive than imagine yourself as Ayane handing out beat-downs left and right!

Once you think every character you could think of has been introduced throughout the 6 part installment thus far, along comes... *drum roll*... Cloud! I must have squealed like a ten year-old girl when I saw him appear in the video! There are also other famous male characters from both games that slowly show face but the series is not over so we can expect more faces to be featured in chapter 7, whenever it is uploaded. I can't wait to see it and if it doesn't eventually become a game when it is done than it should at least be made into a DVD because it rocked! To think, this fan not only put a great concept together but the graphics and fluidity went from good to better with each chapter as well.

If you haven't already watched Dead Fantasy, click the link below to watch parts 1-6 and get ready to experience some of the most memorable characters in gaming history attempt to tear each other to pieces and look good all the while, I might add.

Why wasn't the xbox portable system ever made ?

Xbox Portable has been nothing but a rumor up to this point in time. If you search google images you will see a variety of pictures that people imagined would serve as a template for the Xbox portable, those rumors turned out to be just that, rumors. Gameboy's, Gameboy colors, Gameboy advances, Nintendo DS, 3DS, XL, PSP and Vita all got in the portable gaming market. Nowadays people just game on their smartphones and tablet, but could Xbox have changed up the field and put out a product no one could compare to. If Xbox could have released a graphically superior portable device, Microsoft could have people splurging more hours on their gaming.

superman and batman: past, present and future

As a kid growing up on superman/batman cartoons and movies, such as Christopher Reeves superman, Keaton's batman, and also superman and batman animated series. I've always enjoyed the action sequences and variety of characters in the dc universe. Waking up every Saturday morning to watch them and going back to school the next Monday, was the highlight of my week. Now, 16 years later as an adult I can honestly say that "my childhood was awesome" (lol). Just knowing that the next generation of kids can enjoy some of the things I enjoyed makes me happy. With the new Man of Steel that was released not so long ago along with the sequel being announced at SDCC, (which will include the Dark Knight himself) it feels like I'm reliving my childhood once again. My daily question is, how do you feel about the announcement of the Man of Steel sequel including batman? Leave your comments below.

Quantum Break: the next big thing in gaming

Out of all the Xbox One games announced and shown throughout the reveal and E3, one game that stuck with me is Quantum Break. Developed by Remedy Entertainment, Quantum Break wants to deliver the unique experience of gaming and television. Quantum Break will ship with the game and season 1 of the show. Sam Lake, the Creative Director at Remedy, has said that choices made in the game will affect the outcome of your own personal season of the show packaged with the game. That is insane, I would love to see how the final product is. As a huge diehard fan of shows like Breaking Bad, Game of Thrones, Walking Dead, and Dexter, I can't wait to see how the show's quality is compared to amazing game footage we've seen.

Summer Movie Lackluster

Last summer I was in awe. The Dark Knight Rises had released, it was my first time in a movie theatre in over two years. After watching the Hangover Part II, I decided no movie was worth my money until Christopher Nolan's epic trilogy came to a end. DVDs, Blu-Rays and On Demand services were how I got my movie fix for the two year gap. July 16, 2012 the day I've been waiting for, for over two years. My friends and I packed into a crowded Bayonne movie theatre to watch the movie. Even though living up to The Dark Knight (my all time favorite movie) was going to be nearly impossible, I still enjoyed every second of the movie, *spoiler alert* when I had thought Bruce Wayne killed himself in an attempt to save Gotham, I became overly emotionally. His line to James Gordon about anyone being batman struck a nerve in me and I loved it. I watched that movie three days in a row. The avengers had also came out making the summer of 2012 box office one, if not the most profitable quarter for movie sales in history.

Fast forward to this year, where are the hits?, the movies that fans crave and yearn for. This summers movies like Man of Steel, Despicable Me 2 and Monsters University have made some noise and buzz but lack the punch of 2012s. 4 of this years 7 top earning movies, Iron Man 3, Fast and Furious 6, Star Trek Into Darkness and Oz the Great and Powerful were all released before the ending of May, falling in the Spring release window. With box office flops like Lone Ranger, Turbo, RIPD, and The Internship, too name a few make summer of 2013 quite lackluster. 2014 summer flicks like Guardians of the Galaxy, Fast Seven, Planet of the Apes 2, 22 Jump Street, Ninja Turtles, Transformers 4, the May release of Xmen Days of Futures Past are sure to sweep in the money. Don't even begin to discuss the 2015 release of Star Wars 7, Superman/Batman and Avengers 2. Summer of 2013 had more lackluster than blockbuster.

Gaming has come a long way from when I was young. Sitting in front of the T.v. Playing Super Mario Bros. on the Super Nintendo. Over the years gaming has evolved into what you see today, from consoles to IOS games/androids to P.C. And Mac, but with so much change there's one thing that always stays the same and that's the gamers needs. Us as gamers all want the same-thing  to play a game and have it blow our minds. With the next-gen consoles just around the corner you could say that's ways going to happen. Sony and Microsoft revealed many exclusives for there consoles. If law evading and hacking is your thing then watchdog is the game for, or maybe Futuristic guns and kicking alien ass is your fortay. Which ever game you decide, both companies has a variety of visually breath taking and mind blowing games that will be released on launch day. So here my question, What game are you looking forward to playing and why? Leave your comments below.

If your like me then what you want from your next-gen consoles is something thats fast, reliable, and have really good graphics. The games also play a key part in what makes a console the perfect gaming experience( we'll leave that for the next blog ). So from what I've heard about those next-gen consoles, there shaping up to be outstanding.
From the Xbox one which has:

CPU: AMD 8 core APU (2 Quad-Core Jaguar modules)
Storage capacity: 500 GB (HDD)
Memory: 8 GB DDR3 (5 GB available to games)
Display: Video output formats
Graphics: AMD Radeon variant (inside of APU)
Sound: 7.1 surround sound

To the PS4 which has:

CPU: Semi-custom 8-core AMD x86-64 CPU (integrated into APU)
Storage capacity: Hard drive, 500GB (user upgradeable)
Memory: 8 GB GDDR5 (unified)
Display: Video output formats
Graphics: Semi-custom AMD Radeon GPU (integrated into APU)

What can I say, my 2014 will be brutally awesome.
Which Next-Gen console will you be getting and why? Leave your comments below
